After a win over Hornets, Sixers adopt a professional mindset

After their win over the Charlotte Hornets, the Philadelphia 76ers talk about their professional mindset.

The Philadelphia 76ers had to be in the right mindset when they entered the Spectrum Center on Friday against the Charlotte Hornets. The Sixers had just won an emotional victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday, and could easily lose this one on Friday.

Instead, the Sixers stayed focused and won a 121-82 victory over the Hornets. They led by as much as 42 points and were able to rest their starters during the fourth quarter, as they prepare for Saturday's Indiana Pacers.

Coach Doc Rivers said that it just shows that the team is focused and that they are showing up and playing. Every game is an individual one. We couldn't get the Cleveland game going. It is one of those games that we have to win. Tonight, we played well. While there is no way to predict how you will play, there is a guarantee that you can show up. We are showing up every single night.

The Sixers were outstanding on the defensive end. The Sixers' defense was outstanding, with Joel Embiid scoring 38 points on 16-for-21 shots and Tobias Harris adding 18 points. James Harden scored a triple-double. They held the Hornets down to 33.7% shooting, and they were only 5-for-35 from deep.

Embiid said, "Home or road it doesn't matter. I believe it's the same mindset. We have to win every game. We know what it takes to win offensively and defensively. Everyone is doing their job. Tonight, I believe we did it as a group, everyone contributed."

This win was crucial for the Sixers. It wouldn't have mattered much if they lost, considering the circumstances and the difficult schedule, but this win was crucial for them to keep moving in the right direction.

Harris said, "We are supposed to enjoy ourselves out there."Harris said, "Anytime we have a lead such as that, guys are contributing, and those are great for us. We know that we must be able to do the same tomorrow to have those types of wins that make everyone feel good. These are important games. Any time there are guys involved, things flow smoothly and everyone is happy, that helps us.
