Shoaib Akhtar names Pakistan as the replacement for the Asia Cup hosts

Najam Sethi, chairman of the PCB, stated earlier this week that the board was looking at all options regarding Asia Cup in Pakistan and ODI World Cup India.
Both India and Pakistan have strained their cricketing relations, with the boards battling over the venue for Asia Cup 2023 in Pakistan. The BCCI's refusal to send the Indian contingent in Pakistan for security reasons has caused a new row between the two sides.
After Jay Shah, the BCCI secretary and also the president of Asian Cricket Council, announced that the continental event would be held at a neutral venue because India will not be traveling to Pakistan, the matter escalated. Their board and a number of former Pakistani cricketers reacted strongly to the announcement. They even urged PCB not to boycott the ODI World Cup in India, which will be held after the Asia Cup 2023.
Shoaib Akhtar, a former Pakistan speedster, has a new suggestion. Akhtar, currently involved with Legends League Cricket, believes the tournament should remain in Pakistan, or it should be held at Sri Lanka, who are the current champions.
The Rawalpindi Express also hopes that both countries will continue to excel in the sport."I want to see India or Pakistan play in the finals of Asia Cup and World Cup. He stated that only India and Pakistan should be the finals in world cricket.
Najam Sethi, chairman of the PCB, stated earlier this week that the board was looking into all options regarding Asia Cup in Pakistan as well as ODI World Cup India. Sethi stated that he would bring up these issues at the next ACC or ICC meetings.
Sethi stated that although we have many complex issues, he said that he had kept all options open for me to attend the ACC and ICC meetings. He also stated that he was ready to make a decision now.
Sethi acknowledged that India are determined not to send the team to Pakistan for this Asia Cup. PCB is also certain that it will need to consider not playing the World Cup at India if the former doesn't visit Pakistan for this Asia Cup.
