Biden will have the opportunity to influence public perceptions and may even mark the official start of the 2024 presidential campaign.
Washington: The US President Joe Biden will deliver the first State of the Union Address since Republicans assumed control of the House of Representatives. This speech could mark the official start of the 2024 presidential campaign.
Biden will deliver his second State of the Union address at 9 p. m. Eastern Time (11 p. m. AEDT on Wednesday). It will be live broadcast. It will be available online at The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald.Biden will use the speech to influence public perceptions about the debt limit, social expenditure, and other topics. He also plans to announce his reelection campaign in the next few weeks.
It also gives him the opportunity to gain support from Democrats, who are often concerned about his age. Biden, who turned 80 in November, would have been 82 at the beginning of his second term if he was re-elected.
Watch as Biden speaks to them about the recent mass shootings and Nichols' beating death. His past efforts to reduce gun violence and police excesses were severely restricted by Congress resistance.
Biden repeatedly stated that the US will continue to support Ukraine "as long it takes" in order to defeat Russia. Since the beginning of the war, the United States has already contributed nearly $US30 Billion ($43 Billion) in security assistance.
According to polls, Americans are still strongly in favor of supporting Ukraine. However, officials from the Administration have made it clear to Ukraine that Congress is not willing to give up on war because of the high cost.
The speech is given during a joint session. Biden's cabinet members, the armed forces, and the Supreme Court are also invited. There are also the possibility of partisan outbursts.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy invited Biden to address the audience earlier in January. McCarthy will preside at the event, and Kamala Harris, Vice President of the Senate, will accompany him.
Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has been chosen by Republicans to deliver their response. She was previously White House press secretary under Donald Trump. Usually, the speech is delivered within a few minutes of the president's.
