Celebrity stylist, who announced his retirement in March, addressed the now-viral video featuring Zendaya and himself at Louis Vuitton’s Paris Fashion Week show. The March 6 clip shows Zendaya running to her front-row seat while Law, who arrived at the same moment as the Euphoria star, was left standing in the aisle, visibly unsure where to sit.
Law denied that the rumors about the tension between Law and Zendaya were true. In an interview published on March 17, Law explained that Zendaya and he were late for the show because of traffic. He also said that people "shuffle us as fast as they can to the seats" upon their arrival.
Law stated that he was used to sitting next to Zendaya and became confused when there wasn’t enough space. He said, "So, in the back of my mind, my seat was right next to her. So, when I got there, it wasn’t, you know? It wasn’t a problem, however, there wasn’t anyone to tell me where my seat was."
Law clarified that Zendaya was not pointing to the seat behind her in the video. He explained, "It was her telling it like, 'That is Darnell's chair,' which she is her assistant. I'm not going to sit in Darnell’s seat. Then, where does he go?"So I stood there, really confused.
Law said that Zendaya is "programmed" for sitting next to him at shows because it's a routine they share."It's right beside her, and it always is," he said, "because that's part our relationship and our interaction. Seeing the clothes together."You know the little cues and such are what make the look.
Law stated that Zendaya is not responsible for Law's mishap, even though he ended with another seat."That was really hard," he said about the speculation that followed the video. "It made people think Zendaya wasn’t taking care or making sure I was taken good care of."
"And people will say, "Oh, you're not gonna leave Zendaya."But Zendaya doesn't have to be part of her team or her creative team. Law spoke out in reference to his recent retirement from celebrity styling."So maybe, if I choose, but not to be her stylist," Law said. He also mentioned that he could still be her creative director and can still manage a stylist if I so choose. I haven’t made a decision.
Law said that Spider-Man: No Way Home actress, Sarah Jane Parker, is supportive of Law's decision. Law said that Law is giving him the grace to make that decision because they have a kinship."Like, As you're aware, we've grown together. And that's all I ever wanted, was grace from people I worked so hard to get it.
