Clare Perkins, Actress: Unplugging and getting away when you have earned it
Perkins plays the lead role in "The Wife of Willesden" which will be at ART later in the month. We spoke with Perkins about travel and all things related.

Clare Perkins, a British actress, recalls watching an episode on "Aerial America" (a Smithsonian Channel TV series) that featured Massachusetts. She said, "I said that it was something I wanted to do. I love old buildings and coastal cities. Perkins, 57 years old, is the lead in "The Wife of Willesden," which will play at the American Repertory Theater for three weeks from February 25 to March 18.
Perkins, 57, called London, where she lives, to tell her that the play will be at the American Repertory Theater for a three-week run from February 25 through March 18.
She said, "It's very absurd and quite rude. My character tells everyone everything she believes they need about marriage and doesn’t hold back. Perkins, who has appeared on screen and stage as well as in many British TV shows, including the popular "EastEnders," encouraged women bring their husbands. She laughed and said, "You'll be glad you did." Perkins, who lives in Lewisham (London) and has three children and three grandchildren as well as three cats, was on hand to chat about all things travel.
It was for work, but it turned out to be an amazing experience. I was there for a week and was able spend time in Brussels. I also managed to take a day trip to Ghent (in the Flemish Region of Belgium), which is a medieval city. It is located on a river, and it is beautiful and old. Belgium is also known for its great shopping.
