The fourth-generation Toyota Vios officially made its Malaysian debut on Tuesday, but the new DNGA-based B segment sedan has been cruising Thai roads since August last, sporting the Yaris Ativ badge.
The Yaris Ativ eco car is a Thai eco vehicle with a 1.2 liter engine that produces 94 PS and 110 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. The 3NR-VE four-pot NA engine is E20-compliant and produces 23.3 km/l.
It's identical to our Vios except for the engine and the full-red interior in the top Thai spec. The AC100 is striking in metal with a bold grille, sloping roofline, and a striking grille. But if you want to stand out even more, Toyota's official accessories label (think Honda Modulo) has a suggestion.
Yaris Ativ customers in Thailand can choose a Modellista Bodykit. It includes front bumper skirts and rear bumper skirts as well as side skirts. A boot lid spoiler, 17-inch alloys with Dunlop Enasave 205/50 tires, and a Modellista badge. As you may have seen on JDM recond Alphards or Vellfires, the logo of Modellista is usually found at the center of the front lips. The set is available for 48,500 baht (RM6,301) and can be purchased in any of the four variations.
This package sounds great value, as it includes wheels and tires. And, since this option is factory-approved, there's a warranty for three years or 100,000 kilometers. The 17-inch wheels are the same size as the top 1.5G spec, and an inch larger that the base 1.5E's 16" wheels. The Modellista two-tone rollers have a unique blade design that is very different from our 1.5G fan design.
What do you think the new Vios looks like as it is? And when it's fully dressed up in the Modellista body kit, wheels, and accessories? If you like it, we are pretty certain that this will soon be available in Malaysia to cater to new Vios owners. Check out our launch report and first impressions of the Vios.
He isn't bitter, but he feels sorry for them. I agree that many people lack taste, and there is still a market for AhBeng-style body kits. People love blue lights. Some cars have DRLs that aren't proportionate to their car exterior.
