BMW M4 CSL Sapphire Black Featured in New Walkaround Video

Although BMW sells the M4 CSL with different paints, we think the Competition Sport Lightweight looks best in Sapphire Black. One of the 1,000 CSLs that the M division is making was filmed in underground parking lots next to a variety of expensive cars, including Rolls-Royce.

No matter if the M4 CSL has been painted in Frozen Brooklyn Grey or Alpine White, all cars have contrasting red accents. They are visible around the reworked kidney grille and the contour of the exposed carbon fibre areas on the hood. BMW also adds two stripes to the roof and one at the bottom on the side profile, which runs almost the length of the car. BMW M engineers also removed the rear seats to make the diet more achievable. They replaced them with a pair of bucket seats with carbon shells in the front. The CSL's styling and weight loss features are just a small part of its goodies. The high-performance coupe also comes with yellow daytime running lights, which we have seen on the M3CS. The 3.0 CSL has also adopted those clever laser taillights at the back. The quad-pipe exhaust system is made of titanium silencers and can be quite intimidating even in 2023, when noise regulations are becoming more strict.

BMW is only selling the M4 CSL with an automatic transmission. The S58 engine is dialed up to 550 horsepower, while torque remains the same at 650Nm (479 lbft). Only the 3.0 CSL packs an additional 10 horsepower to the same twin-turbo 3.0-liter Inline-Six engine, resulting in a total of 560 horsepower.
